Walking to work

This past Monday I heard a radio segment about how people miss having a commute to work. More specifically, they miss the time to transition between the private and the public. According to the segment, some employers are encouraging  that (or maybe adding?) "commuting" be designated in workplace calendars as a nudge to make time for this transition. On venturing forth

Recently, I experienced a case of the flu that left me feeling rather pathetic and alone. That aloneness was necessary, however, to enable me to rest and recuperate.  Wrapped up in my blanket of solitude, I spent most of my time either sleeping or reading novels that have a tendency to pile up on my bedside table.
